Last Game

UK vs. Tennessee

I'd been telling Henry that we were going to take a picture by the "big big football man" all season long...last game and we finally did.

Senior night...plenty of excitement...as we walked home...tailgating was fine, but it was tooooo cold to go sit on those metal seats for hours!

One casualty on the way home...

...but quickly recovered and got into some jammies.

and

boy

how

he

did

recover!

We had the game on tv and Henry did "one arm push-ups" with the Wildcat after a touchdown.

And then follows it up with the "C-A-T-S" cheer...

Not sure what letter this is...but he does it with such enthusiasm!

"C-A-T-S! CATS CATS CATS!!"

"C-A-T-S! CATS CATS CATS!!"

"C-A-T-S! CATS CATS CATS!!"

"C-A-T-S! CATS CATS CATS!!"

The celebration ensues.

Then unfortunately, as this tower of blocks falls...so did the Cats...notice that the tv is now off of the game...it was too hard to watch. The boys took it pretty well...as you can tell. Losses just don't seem to get them down like it does the rest of us.

Hope you enjoyed the little peek into what happens when Mommy and the Gibson Brothers tailgate, then walk home and watch the game on tv...almost as exciting as really being there...wouldn't you agree?

Something About This Felt a Little Illegal

Well maybe not illegal, but I can just imagine from the outside it could have looked a little suspicious. Imagine this...a mom, in her workout clothes and Nikes, listening to her iPod, pulls her stroller up next to the UK Football practice field and points out the players to her interested son. She unbuckles her son, who hops out and goes up to the fence to get a closer look. Then, the innocent looking mom pulls out a big black camera from underneath the stroller seat and zooms in with her long telephoto lens to get a little closer look at what was going on inside the somewhat shielded fence. Mild mannered neighborhood mom out on a stroll with her 2 boys...OR intercollegiate spy?? If you are a Louisville or Tennessee fan CLOSE THIS WINDOW NOW!

See the blue blobs behind the screen? Those are players, here is a closer view...

The man in the straw hat is Joker Phillips, your next head coach. I didn't see Coach Brooks...but I was also busy writing down plays, um, I mean pointing out the players to Henry.

We've got our eyes on you...we can't wait until the season starts. Go Cats!

We're #1!

Ok, we are really #7...but we just beat the #1 team in the country and we all FEEL on top of the world. Again, Henry and I listened and watched from the parking lot while our crew of 16 or so of family and friends went in (and all came out without a voice!). We were in good company, watching with Aunt Julie, Uncle Jeremy, Shannon and Rob and their daughter Elise...aka our new best friend. She single handedly entertained Henry for HOURS. Such a sweet girl!

A lot of funny expressions...but Henry is in the game!

The littlest tailgater! Henry's only 1st cousin is having another little Wildcat!

Go Cats!

We've really enjoyed tailgating this year, I say tailgating because Henry and I haven't actually been inside the stadium to watch a game. (Well, we tried...we got to our seats for the Louisville game and it was all just a little too much...helicopters buzzing what felt like inches over our heads, fireworks, paratroopers overhead, the crowd going WILD...Henry decided he just wanted to watch with our friends in the parking lot!)

We are getting excited about watching the game tonight...and a little nervous. BUT we have all of our lucky hats, shirts and underwear all washed and ready to go, and the Cats have their most important good luck charm...Henry! I wonder why no one at UK has caught onto the fact that they have been pretty darn phenominal since he was born! No thanks necessary Coach Brooks...we're just doing our part for the Cats!
