Last Game

UK vs. Tennessee


I'd been telling Henry that we were going to take a picture by the "big big football man" all season long...last game and we finally did.




Senior night...plenty of excitement...as we walked home...tailgating was fine, but it was tooooo cold to go sit on those metal seats for hours!


One casualty on the way home...


...but quickly recovered and got into some jammies.

We had the game on tv and Henry did "one arm push-ups" with the Wildcat after a touchdown.



And then follows it up with the "C-A-T-S" cheer...


Not sure what letter this is...but he does it with such enthusiasm!


"C-A-T-S! CATS CATS CATS!!"

The celebration ensues.


Then unfortunately, as this tower of blocks falls...so did the Cats...notice that the tv is now off of the game...it was too hard to watch. The boys took it pretty well...as you can tell. Losses just don't seem to get them down like it does the rest of us.

Hope you enjoyed the little peek into what happens when Mommy and the Gibson Brothers tailgate, then walk home and watch the game on tv...almost as exciting as really being there...wouldn't you agree?

Blue!...White!...Blue!...White!

We took Henry to his first basketball game. Although not technically one 2 accounts. It wasn't really a game, it was the Blue/White practice...and 2. he's been to a game before...he was just still in my belly.

UK Football Fall '09

Welcome to another season of University of Kentucky Football!




Or as Fisher and I call it...Hanging out at the tailgate waiting for everyone to come join us again.







Sometimes we had company from our other friends in the neighborhood who were tailgating too, like Mr. Tyler. {who's shoulders are still recovering}...


and Mr. Tyler's sunglasses.


The backpack got some use again.


As it did at this time 2 years ago!


Have I mentioned there is a lot of "like big brother...like little brother" stuff going on. Fisher picks up on everything Henry does. He goes about it quietly and determinedly. He found this "tee" and set it up himself.

If you are small and are around Poppy for very long...you will be up in the air at some point! I love the look on the face of the guy in the back. Must be a grandfather too...he seems to be enjoying the scene.

When not watching the action on the field Henry spends most of time searching for the Wildcat and Scratch. Here he has spotted Scratch scheming with the cheerleaders.

As most games started we set out on our walk down Cooper Drive excited and optimistic.


We won some, and lost some, and as we are getting ready to put this season to bed, we'll go out singing the song that Henry and I learned and sang often together this year...
